DURBAN AFRICA SPORTS CLUB (DASC) – ONE GOAL ONE EDUCATION SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AZELIS AND GEORGE RAMULU TRUST
Durban Africa Sports Club (DASC) hosted their 11th instalment of their One Goal One Education Schools Sports Tournament at Westpark School in Malvern on Saturday 14th September 2024.
There were thirteen (13) primary schools that participated in the tournament, which focussed on girls’ soccer and netball in the under 12 age group. This was in line with keeping with our theme “Empowering women in sport”.
The organizers treated the learners to early nutritious breakfast treats and later provided them with lunch and refreshments.
Anand Thaver, president of DASC, hailed this year’s tournament as a resounding success. He also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the main sponsors, Azelis and George Ramalu Trust, whom have been supporting this tournament over the years.
A big thank you to the principals, educators and parents for their support and for allowing the learners to participate in this electrifying and entertaining tournament. This kind of commitment exemplifies the passion and dedication in promoting sports culture amongst our youth.

Winners: Mariannhill primary
Runners up: Dawnridge Primary
Best Player Netball: Amelokuhle Kunene (Mariannhill);
Winners: Kamalinee Primary
Runners up: Sea view primary;
Best Player Soccer: Hlelo Mzimela (DASC Development);
A lucky draw was held for one set of soccer and netball kits and handed over to the winning schools to promote and support the two sporting codes. Mr. Boston Moonsamy CEO of AZELIS heaped praise to the DASC executive and technical team for a well -structured and organised event, always maintaining a high level of professionalism throughout the event.
