The KwaZulu-Natal sporting community turns its attention to one of the most anticipated events on the calendar—the KZN Sports Awards 2026. This prestigious occasion recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions to sport across the province, celebrating excellence in categories such as Sports Personality of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Team of the Year.
The ceremony will take place on April 18, 2026, at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre, where the province’s top teams and organizations will gather for an evening of recognition and celebration. Finalists were selected based on their performances between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates are honored.
Among the distinguished nominees this year is the Durban African Sports Club, proudly recognized as one of the top three contenders for the Recreation Body of the Year award. This nomination marks a significant milestone in the club’s journey.
Established in 2007 with the financial backing of SA Fasteners, Durban African Sports Club has grown from humble beginnings into a respected multi-coded sporting organization. Over the past 19 years, the club has built strong affiliations with the Chatsworth Netball Union and the eThekwini Regional League, while also holding associate membership with the SAFA Chatsworth Local Football Association.
